Question:  What is a "DBA"?

Answer:  "DBA" is an acronym for the term "doing business as".  If you organize your business as a sole proprietorship or partnership and will be doing business using a name other than your own you must file a Business Registration Certificate (name of the form used in Osceola County) with the County Clerk.  The Business Registration Certificate is often referred to as a "DBA.  If you have questions concerning this topic you should contact either the County Clerk's office at 832-3261 or the Osceola Economic Alliance at 832-7397.
