2008 Special Interest Areas

  • Serve as Project Manager for the Orient Township Scrap Tire Site clean-up project.  Obtain additional funding through the Department of Environmental Quality's, Scrap Tire Cleanup Grant Program.

  • Work with the Hartwick Township Planning Commission on the development of their township zoning ordinance.

  • Develop a series of weekly newspaper articles addressing housing opportunities and issues.

  • Implement the Osceola County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority's recently received Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)  grants ($200,000 Hazardous Substances and $200,000 Petroleum Contamination).
     

Ongoing Programs & Services

  • Conduct a Business Retention & Expansion (BR&E) program.

  • Conduct business attraction activities.

  • Provide small business counseling, research, and referral services.

  • Serve the interests of Osceola County thru involvement on local and regional boards.

  • Serve as the local administrator for Osceola County’s $175,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for housing rehabilitation.

  • Serve as a point of contact for housing assistance in Osceola County.

  • Maintain the Osceola County, Osceola County Township Association, and Osceola Economic Alliance websites.

  • Provide community development services to local units of government and non-profit organizations.

  • Capitalize on community & economic development opportunities, as opportunities are presented.
